Regents Compete at Falcon Invitational

MEQUON, Wis. – The Rockford College Men's & Women's cross country teams competed in the 21stannual Falcon Invite hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin. The Falcon invite is one of the larger meets in the area that consists of both Division I and Division III institutions. On the men's side there were a total of 15 Division III teams with 164 runners competing. On the women's side there were 19 teams with a total of 190 runners.        

The Regents men's cross country team finished 12th at the Falcon Invite. Sophomore Carl Rapp(Union, Ill./Belevidere North) was the top finisher for Rockford. Rapp finished 39th with a time of 28:05.6. Sophomore Timothy Lydy (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) finished also ran well placing 68th with a time of 28:58.3.

The women's cross country team did very well finishing 7th. The Regents were once again led by junior Genesis Cerrato (Las Vegas, Nev./Valley). Cerrato turned in yet another top 10 finish completing the race in a time of 24:06.4 finishing 10th. Freshman Net Kirshenbaum (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) finished 42nd with a time of 25:55.9. Junior transfer Elizabeth Tidei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) turned in a 46th place finish completing the race in 26:05.4.

The Regents men's & women's cross country teams will next compete on September 21st at 5:00 p.m. The Running Regents will be in Rock Island, Ill. at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.
